Another racing season gets underway this weekend

On Sunday 7 April 2024, the next racing season in the Czech Republic will start at the Chuchle Arena Prague. A total of 47 racing days at 9 racecourses will traditionally introduce the Tipsport Gomba Handicap.

3629_0173.JPGRacing fans and spectators can look forward to a rich programme. Jockey Club ČR (JC ČR) has repeatedly concluded a contract with Tipsport and BPA sport marketing. Tipsport continues to be the Main Partner of the horse racing and the Exclusive Betting Partner, with the total contribution of Tipsport to Czech horse racing set at more than CZK 7 million for the year 2024. Tipsport will also support the Jockey Club of the Czech Republic in the production of streams by covering the costs of additional cameras and drones and a possible financial bonus provided there is a significant increase in the total betting turnover at the racecourses.

Another pleasant news is the continuation of the popular equestrian championships Lázně Poděbrady Cup 2024, BoKaBau Ladies Cup 2024 and the Ladies Obstacle Cup, supported by Akumulátory Táborský and Stáj Moudrý. Jockey Club CR would like to thank all sponsors for their continued support.

Traditionally, selected race days will be broadcast live on Czech Television, and a live stream of all races will continue to be broadcast. Currently, the JC CR is in intensive negotiations with the newly established national sports TV station Sporty TV, which will also include live TV coverage of some of the Czech races. TV viewers will therefore have something to look forward to.

In terms of the year-round racing programme, the 2024 season will offer a new model of a race day in Prague, called Prague Champions Day with four Listed races. The traditional highlights will be five classic races to be run in Prague, Most and Karlovy Vary. The racing season will then culminate with the Velka Pardubicka se Slavia pojišťovnou.

The whole season will then be positively tuned after many years by an increase in the total amount of racing prize money, which was made possible by the new agreement of the JC CR with Czech racecourses and thanks to the increase in subsidies from the Ministry of Agriculture of the Czech Republic in the area of support for the organization of racing sport. The JC CR Council at its meeting in February 2024 also made its commitment to the overall gradual increase for the next 4 years, which is certainly pleasing information especially for racehorse owners. This year, the amount of prize money will be increased to approximately 44 million CZK, the following two years to 49 and 54 million CZK and by 2027 this amount should reach approximately 60 million CZK.

The Jockey Club of the Czech Republic looks forward to seeing all racing fans.
