Unbeaten Jardin Michelet dominated the classic race



On Sunday, May 14, the first part of this year's racing season culminated in the Chuchle Arena Prague with the opening leg of the Classic Triple Crown, the 102nd Czech 2000 Guineas, sponsored by CONSEQ. Fourteen colts and one filly took part in the one mile prestigious test for a total of 550 ths CZK, last year's junior champion Devil In Pink was the favorite of the race.

DSC_4397.jpgBut he finished only fifth, when Jardin Michelete and filly Abha ran for the glory. Finally Jardin Michelet won by a neck, Abha placed second and Bellator by another one and three quarters lenght third. Jardin Michelet is unbeaten in three races now, he won in every one of this year's racedays in Prague. Jockey Adam Florian (2019 Czech champion), trainer Zdeněk Seménka and owner Karel Klenovský (Cardboard stable) achieved the second classic win in their careers, Florian, in addition, reached the 100th lifetime win. Jardin Michelet won in good time 1:37,52.

Also the second Class A race offered talented three-years-old horses, especially those who are heading for the Czech Derby (25 June) on the so-called "longer way". The winner of the 37th JUDr. Otakar Frankenberger Memorial Stakes (11f, 135 ths. CZK) becamethe progressive colt Breakmoment, starting only for the second time in his life. The bay colt under the care of trainer Ingrid Janáčková made his debut on the Chuchle track only three weeks ago, when he was defeated by his only rival – Jardin Michelet... This time he did not find a conqueror and under the young French jockey, performing for the first time in the Czech Republic, Hugo Besnier, he won in a solid time of 2:21.94 by a length and three quarters ahead of his training colleague L'Enfant Terrible, the local novice of the Bella horse stable. Three-quarters of a length behind him, Stormy Awakening, another classic hope from the Cardboard stable, took third place. Breakmoment defends the colors of the CK Martin Tour stable and brought the owner Vojtěch Martin Class A win after eleven years.

Jockey Milan Zatloukal won twice in the framework program, thus recording the anniversary fiftieth double of his career.
